What Winter Is Meant For

What Wintertime Is Meant For
In winter we experience more darkness and a cold that motivates us to seek warmth. The cold north wind blows the air clean and the purity of the snow nourishes and cleans the earth.
In Chinese medicine, wintertime is associated with receptivity and introspection (yin activities), rest and nurturing. It’s a wonderful time for meditation, contemplation and dreams. Eating warm, highly nourishing foods is beneficial at this time of year.
The winter is a time of purification for the earth and all living beings. It is a time when our minds can be cleared and we can clearly see the truth in our own lives.
I take advantage of what the season of winter offers me.
